Sorry I've been missing in action for the past couple of days. My life outside web land has been a little crazy. From trying to find a part-time job, to making sure my school fees are paid for, I've had my hands full. Needless to say, I'll be revealing the winner of the fabulous BB Dakota dress on Monday. Keep your eyes peeled lovelies! Also, I may have turned a new leaf, or well, an old one. Before cupcakes, I was all about brownies! I discovered these creations by Fairytale Brownies on Wednesday. A company that owns brownies.com is more than A-Okay in my book. I can't wait to try one of their fudge-filled confections!

Take Your Pants Off

The Christian Dior Fall 2009 Couture show walked yesterday and hot damn Galliano has done it again! I see a little bit of Gaga influence here, no? This sudden movement of pantsless fashion hasn't struck my fancy. I like to fully cover my big booty, thanks. On the other hand, this collection had exposed undergarments, sheer overlaying, and over-the-top sophisticated silhouettes. I believe undergarments should be kept well, under clothes, but it's couture baby and only Galliano could get away with this.

What do you think?

WTF: Designer Snuggie

Monday, July 6, 2009

As if the already ridiculous Snuggie™ could not get anymore dumbfounding, the makers of the blanket-with-sleeves have come up with the Designer Snuggie™. That's right. No longer can you just get your SnUGLiee in burgundy, royal blue or yummy sage green. It can now be bought in zebra, leopard or exciting camel. Oh my!

What I would like to know is what compelled the creators of the SnUGLiee to think that the Designer Snuggie™ would be a good idea? Seriously. I mean, I will admit I'm a sucker for anything in leopard print, and the sight of a somewhat practical product in a chic print makes me consider buying it. But then I laugh out loud intensively at the commercial and say to myself, "That is THE stupidest thing I have ever seen."

On a side note, this would be a great gag gift. My half birthday is on the 23rd. Think about it.

I absolutely adore Audrey Tautou. I fell in love with her acting chops when I saw the movie Amélie six or seven years ago. She's perfect for the role as Coco Chanel. Enjoy!

Summer Lovin'

Me, a writer?
Photo: About.com

As I sit in my room chatting online with my best friend, confessing to her that I'm watching the Sex and The City movie for the 15th, 16th? time (I've lost count it's horrible), I can't help but think about my love life or lack thereof. Hah, well, something that happened in church this past Sunday truly revealed how uhm, single I am.

My pastor asked, "How many mothers have a daughter who is of marrying age?" As soon as he asked that question, I saw at the corner of my eye an arm go up. That arm was of my mother's (WHAT THE...?!)!
I snapped my head at her and said, "PUT THAT HAND DOWN!" My older brother began to chuckle uncontrollably. "I'm not of marrying age. I'm only 20 and I don't have a boyfriend!" I screeched.
My mom laughed and said, "Well, some gals do get married at your age."
"Yeah, some gals. Not THIS gal!"

Needless to say, I've come to terms that there'll be no Sandy & Danny esque summer lovin' this year. Thus, I'll be focusing on me. Especially my writing. I guess I'm some kind of a writer--being a print journalism major and all who has aspirations of one day writing a book or books. I just figure it's better I focus on improving the one thing in my life I have going for me--HAHA! So expect longer posts as I explore this talent(?) of mine.

Remember M.J. With A Graphic Tee

Although I'm over listening to the constant news reports on Michael Jackson's death, he will forever be in my heart. I will tell my children and grandchildren about him. My offspring will get to know the King of Pop and love and appreciate him for the great musical artist that he was. Ahh. Well, enough of that mushy pish posh. I think that the best way for style mavens alike to commemorate the great M.J. is with a simple yet chic Tee.

I'm currently in love with this one from Marc Clark:
